Baroni Hails New Lazio Signing: 'Great Potential, No Wonder He Played for Arsenal'
Lazio's Sporting Director Igli Tare has hailed the signing of 20-year-old defender Alessio Romagnoli from Arsenal, calling him a player with "great potential" who is a "great addition to the squad".
Romagnoli, who came through the ranks at AC Milan before joining Arsenal in 2019, has signed a five-year contract with Lazio. He made 13 appearances for Arsenal's first team, including two in the Premier League.
Tare said: "Alessio is a young player with great potential. He is a very good defender, he is very strong in the air, and he is also good with his feet. He is a great addition to our squad and I am sure he will have a great future with Lazio.
Romagnoli said: "I am very happy to join Lazio. Lazio is a great club with a great history and a great tradition. I am very proud to be part of this club and I am looking forward to playing in front of the Lazio fans.
Romagnoli is Lazio's second signing of the summer, following the arrival of goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha from Udinese. Lazio are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season, as they aim to challenge for a place in the top four of Serie A.
