The LA28 Games Will Mark Los Angeles' Third Time Hosting the Olympic Games and the First Time Hosting the Paralympic Games
The 2028 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXIV Olympiad and commonly known as Los Angeles 2028 or LA28, is an upcoming international multi-sport event that is scheduled to be held from July 14 to August 15, 2028, in Los Angeles, California, United States. It will be the third time that Los Angeles has hosted the Summer Olympics, having previously done so in 1932 and 1984. It will also be the first time that the city has hosted the Paralympic Games, which will be held from August 21 to September 5, 2028.
The LA28 Games are expected to attract over 10,000 athletes from more than 200 countries and regions. The Games will feature 28 sports, including 23 core sports and five additional sports that have been added for the 2028 Games: baseball/softball, breakdancing, climbing, skateboarding, and surfing.
The LA28 Organizing Committee is working to ensure that the Games are sustainable and leave a lasting legacy for the city of Los Angeles. The Committee is committed to using renewable energy, reducing waste, and promoting public transportation.
