WWE Legend Kane Announces Retirement
The Big Red Machine Steps Away from the Ring
After a Hall of Fame Career
Glenn Thomas Jacobs, better known as Kane, has announced his retirement from professional wrestling. The 54-year-old legend made the announcement on social media, thanking his fans for their support over the years. "It's been an incredible journey," Jacobs wrote. "I've lived my dream and I'm so grateful for all the opportunities I've been given."
Kane debuted in WWE in 1997 as the half-brother of The Undertaker. He quickly became one of the most popular stars in the company, known for his imposing size, fiery promos, and brutal in-ring style. Kane won numerous championships during his WWE career, including the WWE Championship, World Heavyweight Championship, and ECW Championship. He was also inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021.
In recent years, Kane has transitioned to a part-time role in WWE, while also pursuing a career in politics. He was elected mayor of Knox County, Tennessee in 2018 and is currently serving his second term. Kane says he is looking forward to spending more time with his family and focusing on his political career.
"I'm not going to rule out a return to the ring at some point," Jacobs said. "But for now, I'm focused on my family and my work in Knox County."
