However, he made a greater impact as a manager.
Managerial Career
Herzog began his managerial career in 1975 with the St. Louis Cardinals. Over the next 18 years, he managed four different teams. He led the Cardinals to the World Series in 1982 and 1985, winning the championship in 1982.During his managerial career, Herzog won 1,281 games and lost 1,125, with a career managerial winning percentage of .531.
